Voices from the Holy Land film series

On Sunday Oct. 7, the documentary “Roadmap to Apartheid” will be shown starting at 2:30 p.m. at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 9801 Centerway Road. This film examines the apartheid analogy commonly used to describe the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A moderated discussion will follow the free showing.

This 1 hour, 35 minute film, narrated by Alice Walker (author of “The Color Purple”), reviews the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa; reveals why many Palestinians feel they are living in an apartheid system today; and why, increasingly, people around the world agree with them.

The Voices from the Holy Land film series seeks to offer the perspective of the people living in the Holy Land. It presents informative, compelling and award-winning documentary films by Israeli, Palestinian, American and European film makers to start conversations.

This is the 2nd Annual Montgomery County series, run by an interfaith and interdenominational coalition of more than a dozen supporting organizations. For more information about this film series in Montgomery County, visit www.voicesfromtheholyland.org or call Bob Cooke at 301-661-0449.
