Covenant United Methodist Church invites the community to participate in holiday events and services.
The Children’s Secret Shop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 1. This special shopping experience for young ones encourages them to purchase gifts for family and friends in secret, away from the eyes of mom and dad. Each child is assisted in his/her shopping by an elf. After shopping, the elf will take the child to one of the wrapping rooms where all gifts will be holiday wrapped and tagged. There will be an "adult room" with holiday goodies and hot drinks for waiting loved ones.
During this morning of fun Santa will be there listening to wishes, available for photos, reading Christmas books and handing out treats to each child. All are welcome!
The Christmas portion, and the Hallelujah Chorus with chamber orchestra, will be presented by the music ministry on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the 8:30 and 10 a.m. services. Handel's “Messiah” has been a tradition for many generations – Handel’s masterful music continues to inspire concert-goers young and old. For many people, Handel’s “Messiah” is the sound of Christmas, so this will be just the thing to get you in the right frame of mind for the holidays. Childcare for infants and toddlers is available.
There are two Christmas Eve services on Monday, Dec. 24: a children's pageant in full costume at 5 p.m. and a candlelight worship experience at 8: p.m.
